I almost always feel a bit remorseful as Labor Day approaches. No matter how many items I successfully crossed off of my summer bucket list, I can’t help but think of the ones I didn’t get to do. Life is picking up it’s hurried pace again; kids are going back to school, the seasons are changing and the holidays are approaching. Summer is over.
This Labor Day I am taking a vow to “Take some Grace Time”. I will be taking time to enjoy my family before we are schedule-swamped by sports, homework and exams…taking time to throw that BBQ we’ve been talking about for friends and neighbors…taking time to put down the phone and just enjoy the view no matter where I may be.
And I owe this major reversal of Labor Day remorse to a new friend. A friend that I am just beginning to get to know and better understand. My new friend’s name is Grace.
Grace is involved in a wonderful organization called American Serenade. This organization’s purpose is to support small American Artisan Business while always finding a way to make room for Grace Time with family and friends.
This Labor Day, my Grace Time is going to include some delicious BBQ complete with some of our favorite white wines and great friends, down time with my family free of phones and technology, and a little quiet time to myself to reflect on all of the memories made this summer.
What will you do for your Grace Time?
